A 40-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the shooting that killed a west Fort Worth bar customer during a robbery attempt early Friday.

The suspect, Dain Graham, was booked into the Fort Worth City Jail on Friday night. He faces a capital murder charge, according to police records.

The killing happened when an armed man tried to rob the Yellow Rose Saloon, at 2813 Cherry Lane, shortly before 2 a.m., police have said. One of the patrons attempted to fend off the robber with a chair and was shot. The gunman ran away after the shooting.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office hasn’t yet publicly identified the person who died.

Graham recently had been released from Tarrant County Jail on a $5,000 bond after being arrested on an unauthorized use of a vehicle charge at the end of July, according to court records.

A few hours before the Cherry Lane shooting, 36-year-old Kevin Hernandez was fatally shot while parked outside a Louisiana Famous Fried Chicken and Seafood restaurant in east Fort Worth. Two suspects, including Hernandez’s half-brother, have been arrested, according to jail records and Star-Telegram media partner WFAA-TV.
