2 injured during assault in West 7th parking garage, Fort Worth police say

Two people were injured during an assault in a West 7th area parking garage early Tuesday, Fort Worth police said.

A 911 caller said he was on the first floor of the parking garage at 2853 Crockett St. when someone ran up and started attacking him, according to the call sheet. Officers responded to the location shortly after 2:20 a.m.

Police said there was a shooting involved, but the injuries to the victim were caused by the assault. The victim was treated and released at the scene, police said. Another person was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive.

Detectives from the Gun Violence Unit have been notified, according to police. The circumstances surrounding the assault and shooting are still under investigation. No suspects have been arrested.
