Suspect arrested in Fort Worth crash that killed 93-year-old man

A 32-year-old man has been arrested in the death of a 93-year-old man in a fatal car crash in Fort Worth last month, according to court records.

Juan Nunez Nava was booked into the Fort Worth City Jail on Monday, April 28. He faces a manslaughter charge, court records state.

The crash occurred at 4452 Hemphill St. on April 24 shortly before 11:30 a.m. Francisco Navarro Mariscal was turning left onto Hemphill Street in his Mercury Mountaineer when a Dodge Ram pickup slammed into the driver’s door of the SUV, according to the police report.

Navarro Mariscal died at the scene from blunt force injuries, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Nunez Nava is being held in the Tarrant County Jail on a $50,000 bond, according to court records. Nunez Nava’s court-appointed attorney, Tobias Lopez, could not immediately be reached for comment Thursday, April 28.
