2 teens shot, injured after approaching shooter’s car, Fort Worth police say
Two teens were shot and injured early Thursday, April 10, after they were called over to a vehicle and then fired on by someone inside the car, Fort Worth police said.
Officers responded to the 2700 block of Avenue J, in east Fort Worth, shortly before 2 a.m. They found two teenage boys with gunshot wounds, according to police.
The teenagers told officers they were walking down the street when a vehicle pulled up and someone called them over, police said. The two boys moved closer, but then saw a window roll down and a person with a gun.
One of the teens was shot in the back and the other in the arm as they were trying to run away, according to police. They were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Gun Violence Unit detectives are investigating the shooting, police said. No arrests have been announced.
In a separate incident of gun violence, officers also responded to a disturbance in the 4700 block of Belladonna Drive, in southwest Fort Worth, about 10:40 p.m. Wednesday, April 9. Two people met up in the street, and shots were fired, according to police.
One of the individuals involved fell and broke their arm while running, police said. The injured person was taken to a hospital for treatment.
There are no reports of anyone being wounded in that shooting, and police said they are investigating to see who fired the shots. No arrests have been announced.
