A man riding a bicycle was seriously injured in east Fort Worth after he was hit by an SUV that left the scene of the crash, police said.

On Saturday, April 5, about 10:30 p.m., officers responded to investigate the hit-and-run at the intersection of Avenue H and South Collard Street, police said.

The cyclist told officers that an older model Chevy Tahoe ran a stop sign and turned south on Collard Street. The driver hit the victim and did not stop to render aid, police said.

The Tahoe continued to drive south. Officers searched the area for the suspect vehicle but were not able to find it, police said.

The victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, according to the accident report. Police are looking for the driver and no arrest has been made.
