A man who was wounded in a road rage shooting near a Fort Worth auto repair shop on Thursday morning died at a hospital, and a suspect was arrested, according to police records.

Officers responded to the 3600 block of NE 28th Street — in north Fort Worth near Haltom City — about 8:40 a.m. on March 13 regarding a shooting call. They found the victim with a gunshot wound to his upper body, police said.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as 45-year-old Jason Michael White, of Fort Worth. He died in the emergency department at John Peter Smith Hospital.

White and another person were driving on 28th Street when they got involved in a road rage incident with someone in another car, according to investigators. They were getting ready to turn in to a business when the suspect fired several shots toward them, police said.

The suspect drove away after the shooting. A short time later his car was stopped by police, and he was booked into the city jail after being questioned by investigators.

Jail records identify the suspect as 31-year-old Noel Ibarra, who faces a murder charge.
