A 17-year-old girl and two men face charges of criminal conspiracy to commit murder after they faked a kidnapping in a plot to trap two people they planned to kill, according to Fort Worth police.

Police say that on Jan. 29, Estefana De La Rosa pretended that she had been kidnapped to try to lure the intended victims to a location where they could be ambushed, but the victims instead called 911.

Officers responded to a gas station in the 2700 block of Las Vegas Trail, in west Fort Worth, to take a report. Believing at that point that someone might have been kidnapped, the officers called for help from the Police Department’s Directed Response Unit and Electronic Surveillance Unit.

But a short time later, officers found De La Rosa parked down the street from her home, police said. She was asleep in her car and did not appear to be in danger.

Further investigation uncovered the suspects’ plan, police said.

Police have not released the names of the intended victims, who were not harmed, but said that the two are brothers. De La Rosa was upset with the brothers because of a social media post and she conspired with the other suspects in a plan to kill them, investigators said.

As part of the murder plot, one of the suspects bought a gun and ammunition, and De La Rosa contacted one of the victims and told him she had been kidnapped, police said.

De La Rosa was arrested on Feb. 18 and booked into the Tarrant County Jail on Feb. 20. She is being held on $100,000 bond, according to jail records.

The other two suspects, 31-year-old Christian Hernandez-Carrizales and 23-year-old Jesus Huitron, were arrested on Feb. 18 and Feb. 24.

Huitron was released from jail Thursday, Feb. 27, on $100,000 bond.

Hernandez-Carrizales remains in jail with bond set at $150,000 and is also being held on probation violations in a previous aggravated assault case. According to court documents, prosecutors say that he bought the gun on Jan. 29, which violated the terms of his probation.
