One person shot dead near downtown Fort Worth after argument Thursday night, police say

One person was killed in a shooting following an argument Thursday night near downtown Fort Worth, police said.

A 911 caller reported that the victim was shot near East Lancaster and Bomar avenues about 5:40 p.m., according to an online call log.

Officers found the victim in the 2200 block of East Lancaster. He had a gunshot wound to his upper body and was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the person who died.

No arrests have been made in the case. Homicide detectives learned that the victim had been involved in an argument with the shooter, who left the scene before officers arrived, police said in a news release on Friday.
