19-year-old suspect faces murder charge in fatal south Fort Worth shooting, police say

A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an Oct. 4 shooting that killed one person and injured another in south Fort Worth.

Jimmy Mugiraneza was booked into the Fort Worth City Jail on Monday, Feb. 17. He faces a murder charge, according to police records.

Officers were called to the homicide scene in the 7400 block of Kingswood Circle around 2:40 a.m. on Oct. 4. They found two people who had been shot. One of them died at the scene, according to police.

The other shooting victim was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police said at the time that the shooter or shooters were unknown and still at large.

The person who died in the Kingswood Circle shooting has not been publicly identified.

A fugitive task force took Mugiraneza into custody at a residence on Monday, according to police.

Police have not released an arrest warrant affidavit describing what evidence led to Mugiraneza’s arrest.
