1 person fatally shot during fight in south Fort Worth, police say
One person was fatally shot Monday night during a fight in south Fort Worth, police said.
Officers were called to the 700 block of W. Anthony Street on Monday, Feb. 3, to investigate the shooting. They found someone lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the torso, according to police.
Investigators learned that the victim had been involved in a fight with several other people before the shooting near the intersection of Anthony and Hemphill streets, police said. An unidentified person pulled out a gun and fired at least one shot, according to police.
The shooter ran away and has not been found.
The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment but didn’t survive, according to police. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will publicly identify the person who died.
Homicide detectives are investigating.
