One dead in apparent road rage shooting on Loop 820 Monday in east Fort Worth

A 62-year-old man was killed in an apparent road rage shooting on East Loop 820 on Monday night in Fort Worth, police said.

The shooting was reported about 6:45 p.m. and involved a victim who was found unconscious in a silver car, according to a 911 call log.

Upon arriving at the scene, Fort Worth police said they found an unconscious person bleeding in a vehicle. Officers determined the victim had a gunshot wound to his torso. The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The victim was identified as Ricky L. Langs of Fort Worth, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.

There were no suspects in custody as of Monday afternoon.

The northbound lanes of 820 near Meadowbrook Drive and Lancaster Avenue were closed to traffic during the investigation.
