Former Fort Worth private school band director arrested, faces charges of soliciting minor
A former employee of a Fort Worth private school was arrested on Thursday, Dec. 5, after he was accused of online solicitation of a minor and possessing material that depicted the sexual abuse of a child, according to jail records.
Eric Fuller, 47, worked as the upper school band and orchestra director at Fort Worth Country Day until he was fired after an investigation that was reported in May, school officials said.
Fuller was booked at the city jail and faces charges of online solicitation of a minor, possession of child pornography, and producing or promoting the sexual performance of a child, jail records show.
“Regarding this case, the School has been cooperating with law enforcement since May and continues to do so,” Fort Worth Country Day said in a statement Thursday. “The arrest of this former employee underscores the seriousness of the ongoing investigation.”
The school had received an anonymous email tip about Fuller’s alleged actions. The head of school wrote in a letter to parents that there was no evidence any Fort Worth Country Day students or other staff were involved.
“Fort Worth Country Day prioritizes the safety and well-being of its students,” the statement said. “FWCD follows standard protocols in the hiring of all its employees.”
Bond had not been set for Fuller on Thursday. It’s unclear whether he has obtained a defense attorney.
