A former employee of a private Fort Worth school is under investigation after he was accused of online solicitation of a minor, officials said.

In a recent letter to families, Fort Worth Country Day officials said they had received an anonymous email tipping them off to the employee’s alleged actions.

“A Fort Worth Police Department investigation has been opened to online solicitation of a minor and possession of child pornography,” Head of School Eric Lombardi wrote in the letter. “Our staff is fully cooperating with the investigators as they work toward possible charges.”

The employee has been fired and is not allowed on campus, the letter states.

A Fort Worth Police Department report shows that officers responded to the school on May 17 to assist with a report regarding the allegation of online solicitation of a minor.

A spokesperson for the JK-12 college preparatory school told the Star-Telegram in a statement that the employee in question passed a reference check and an FBI background check with fingerprints before he was hired.

“Fort Worth Country Day prioritizes the safety and well-being of its students,” the statement said. “FWCD follows standard protocols in the hiring of all its employees.”

Lombardi said in the letter that there was no evidence any Fort Worth Country Day students or other staff were involved in the alleged incident.

The Fort Worth Police Department, along with Child Protective Services, is also investigating reports of misconduct involving a former Trinity Valley School piano teacher.
