A Fort Worth woman has been charged with capital murder in the death of a baby boy she is accused of smothering with a pillow, according to court documents.

Dulce Gomez, 57, was booked into the city jail on Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 26. She is charged with one count of capital murder of a person under 10 years old.

The 8-month-old infant died in the emergency room at Cook Children’s Medical Center on Nov. 4 after an incident at the suspect’s apartment in southwest Fort Worth, according to online records of the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office. Results of an autopsy are pending to officially determine his cause of death.

Fort Worth police have not released details of the investigation or what led to Gomez’s arrest.

Gomez is being held in the Tarrant County Jail with bond set at $300,000.
