North Texas man faces murder charges in stabbing deaths of his father and brother
A North Texas man faces murder charges in the stabbing deaths of his father and brother after their bodies were found in a Wise County home earlier this month.
William Darrell Struble III, 32, was arrested Tuesday, Nov. 26, according to jail records. He was booked on two counts of murder in the killings of his father, William Darrell Struble II, 64, and his brother, Martin Anthony Struble, 29.
Sheriff’s deputies found the bodies Nov. 20 during a welfare check at the family’s home in the 200 block of County Road 4874 in Newark after receiving a call from someone concerned they had not been able to contact one of the residents for several days.
Williams Struble III was also found injured inside the house and was taken to a hospital for treatment before his arrest.
Investigators wrote in an arrest warrant affidavit obtained by the Wise County Messenger that it appeared the victims had been dead for a long time. Both victims had multiple stab wounds and were found wrapped in a bed covering, according to the affidavit.
The suspect had cuts to his wrist and neck, and deputies found a bloody knife near him, the affidavit states. He also faces two charges of tampering with or fabricating physical evidence with the intent to impair a human corpse.
The Wise County Sheriff’s Office investigated the double homicide case with assistance from the Texas Rangers.
Newark is about 23 miles northwest of Fort Worth.
