26-year-old man fatally shot in driveway of south Fort Worth home, police say
A 26-year-old man was killed in a shooting Sunday night in south Fort Worth, and a suspect was taken into custody, police said.
Officers responded about 10:15 p.m. to a house in the 1200 block of East Davis Avenue.
The homicide victim was found in the driveway with gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police and the medical examiner.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Oscar Alberto Umanzor Lopez, who lived at the home where he was killed.
Investigators said they found the suspect and a witness leaving a nearby residence. The suspect was detained but had a medical emergency during the investigation and was taken to a hospital for medical evaluation, a police spokesperson said.
The suspect, 26-year-old Caspian Swinney, was arrested Monday morning and faces a murder charge, according to jail records.
Homicide detectives believe that the victim and suspect were involved in an argument and physical fight when the suspect fired a handgun, shooting the victim multiple times.
