Two teenagers were killed in a shooting at an apartment being used as a short-term rental near AT&T Stadium on Saturday night, Arlington police said.

Police responded to the Stadium 700 apartment complex in the 600 block of Slaughter Street at around 10:20 p.m. Nov. 23 after receiving a report of shots fired, according to a statement from the department.

Upon arrival, officers found the two victims — a 19-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman — in the living room with multiple gunshot wounds, officials said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman was transported to an area hospital, where she died of her injuries, police said.

Witnesses told investigators that after hearing gunshots, they saw a group of people run from the direction of the apartment, get into a car and leave the scene, according to a news release.

Nothing apparently was stolen from the victims, who did not live in the apartment complex and had rented it for the weekend through a short-term rental site, police said.

The man, who was going to turn 20 on Sunday, had rented the apartment for his birthday celebration. Investigators believe the shooter or shooters may have known the victims.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the woman who died as Alexis Johniyah Tyler, of Mesquite.

A police report identified the man who was killed as Dayton Jaqual Allen. According to a GoFundMe, Allen was from Shreveport, Louisiana, and the family is raising money to bring his body home for burial.

In a Facebook post, Tyler’s father asked for prayers and said that his daughter and her friend were killed at a party. “This is really hard for me and my family and I’m speechless.”

Family members have started a GoFundMe to raise money for Alexis Tyler’s funeral expenses.

No arrests have been made, and police were canvassing the area for evidence and to try to identify any suspects, officials said.

Police were looking for a white sedan that left the scene.
