Suspects arrested with stolen handgun after chase that ended in Fort Worth, police say
A police chase began after Mesquite officers saw several suspects attempting to break into a vehicle inside an apartment complex during a routine patrol on Monday, night Nov. 18, police said.
The suspects got into a vehicle and fled after they saw police approaching, a spokesperson with the Mesquite Police Department said.
A pursuit assisted by Fort Worth police led the suspects to turn onto a dead end road after exiting Interstate 30 at Cooks Lane in Fort Worth, and they fled on foot, police said.
Officers were able to apprehend the suspects and found several pieces of stolen property, including a handgun, the spokesperson said.
Further investigation revealed the suspects had abandoned two stolen vehicles in the apartment complex.
There were no accidents or damage reported during the pursuit. The names of the suspects have not been released.
The suspects face charges of evading arrest and from outstanding warrants. The investigation into the additional property and evidence is ongoing, police said.
