A Fort Worth man who shot and killed his girlfriend’s ex partner was found guilty last week and sentenced to life in prison for murder.

Ryan Willrich, 32, along with his girlfriend met Sean Woodberry, 27, to transfer custody of the child she shared with Woodberry on May 31, 2020.

Woodberry had approached the driver’s side of the car when Willrich shot him from the passenger’s seat, the Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney’s Office said in a statement on Friday, Nov. 15.

Woodberry was shot in the chest and died at the scene, authorities said.

The child in the backseat of the car witnessed the shooting, which happened near Griff’s Hamburgers restaurant in the 4200 block of East Lancaster Avenue.
