1 seriously injured in domestic violence shooting at Fort Worth apartment complex

A person was seriously injured Friday morning in a shooting at a south Fort Worth apartment complex, police said.

Officers were dispatched to the 2700 block of Stallings Street around 6:30 a.m. A 911 caller reported that some children said their mother was getting shot, according to the call sheet.

Police said they believe the incident started as a domestic disturbance that quickly escalated into violence.

The victim was taken to a local hospital in serious condition, according to a MedStar spokesperson.

According to Fort Worth Jail records, a suspect was arrested and booked into the jail about 10 a.m. Clarence Pearson, 40, faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon/family violence.

The Gun Violence Unit is investigating the shooting, police said.
