20-year-old victim of brutal North Texas homicide honored by family via GoFundMe
A GoFundMe has been established to honor the memory of a 20-year-old who died in a brutal homicide in North Texas.
Dylan Gurley was found with “traumatic injuries” the night of July 23 in a home in the 3700 block of Holland Lane in Denton, police said. Officers responded to the address around 11:10 p.m. after receiving a call about an unconscious person.
Gurley died at Medical City Denton around 40 minutes later from “blunt and sharp force injuries with strangulation,” according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office. The cause of death suggests she may have been beaten and cut or stabbed as well as strangled.
“I am coming here today to ask for any help we can get to give Dylan the memorial she wanted and deserved. ... We are just trying to put the pieces back together as best as we can and appreciate any and all help,” a family member, Senica Ciarallo, wrote in the GoFundMe description.
The investigation into Gurley’s death is ongoing, Denton police said Wednesday afternoon. No suspects in the killing have been arrested.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Detective Jasmine Badiru at 940-349-7977. Anonymous tips can be phoned in to Denton County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-388-8477 or reported at dentoncountycrimestoppers.com.
