Victim identified in New Year’s Day shooting; suspect arrested, Fort Worth police say
The victim in a New Year’s Day homicide in Fort Worth was identified as Agustin Rivera Feliciano, 39, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Fort Worth police arrested Frank Morales, 45, as the suspect in the shooting and he faces a charge of murder, according to jail records.
Early New Year’s Day, on Sunday morning, Fort Worth officers responded to a shooting call around 2 a.m. in the 1000 block of Barclay Avenue. When officers arrived, they found Rivera Feliciano with gunshot wounds to his upper body.
He was taken to a hospital, where he died.
Detectives learned that Rivera Feliciano and Morales had been in an argument prior to the shooting, police have said. Rivera Feliciano went to Morales’ location, where investigators believe the suspect shot the victim, police said.
A GoFundMe page has been started for to raise money for Rivera Feliciano’s funeral.
“One of our family members was shot and killed the night of new years and we’re needing any help to raise money for his funeral, If it’s even a $1 anything helps, may god bless you,” the page reads.
