Police shoot armed woman at Dallas Love Field
An armed woman who was dropped off at Dallas Love Field Airport was wounded by a police officer after she opened fire inside the airport Monday morning, the Dallas police chief said. The 37-year-old woman, who was not identified, has been taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. No other injuries have been reported.

The shooting inside Dallas Love Field airport on Monday has led to hundreds of flight delays or cancellations across the nation.
Southwest Airlines paused all departures and arrivals after a woman fired a gun and was shot by police, according to officials. The woman was taken to a hospital, but many flights were delayed or being held at their origin point while police and airline officials dealt with the aftermath.
The Federal Aviation Administration placed a ground stop for at least 90 minutes Monday afternoon. FlightAware showed Southwest Airlines reporting more than 645 flight delays across the U.S.
Dallas Love Field was averaging 55-minute departure delays, according to FlightAware. The tracker reported 66 flights delayed at both Love Field and Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. At least 18 flights were canceled across the metroplex as of mid-afternoon.
Across the country, there have been more than 1,040 delays and nearly 270 cancellations while flights were held at their origin point, according to FlightAware’s MiseryMap. Some canceled flights out of Love Field included trips to Denver, El Paso, Fort Lauderdale, Houston, Indianapolis, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Nashville, according to Southwest Airlines’ flight tracker.
The city-owned public airport is home to Southwest Airlines, Delta Airlines and Alaska Airlines flight operations.
