Richardson police arrest man accused in fatal shooting of woman in Tom Thumb parking lot

Police arrested a 75-year-old man they say shot and killed an 80-year-old woman in a parked car outside a Richardson Tom Thumb grocery store on Friday afternoon, according to a news release.

About 9:30 p.m. Friday, Richardson Police Department detectives found and arrested Eddie Leon Williams, of Garland. Williams faces a charge of murder in the death of Kathryn Elizabeth Kramer, who lived in Richardson. Kramer and Williams had a personal relationship with each other, police said, but they did not specify the relationship.

Police said they believe Kramer was sitting in a pickup truck parked outside the grocery store when Williams approached her vehicle and fired a gun multiple times, based on accounts from 911 callers. The woman was taken to an area hospital, where she died, police said.

Williams fled the scene in a vehicle and was later located, police said.

The shooting occurred about noon Friday outside Tom Thumb at 819 W. Arapaho Road.

Anybody with information on the homicide is asked to call 972-744-4800.
