Video shows two-tone car without hubcaps intentionally hit pedestrian in North Texas

A motorist traveling in an unusual two-tone car drove around a pickup truck and intentionally hit a pedestrian standing on a Mesquite highway on Tuesday afternoon, Mesquite police said.

After hitting the pedestrian, the motorist backed up and drove away from the scene.

Mesquite police on Thursday released a video of the assault and photographs of the two-tone car in hopes that someone would recognize the car and call authorities.

The assault occurred shortly before 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Samuell Boulevard and South Town East Boulevard in Mesquite.

The video showed the suspect’s car, which Mesquite police believe is a 2003 to 2011 Mercury Grand Marquis, hit the pedestrian, who was knocked to the ground. The condition of the pedestrian was not available on Thursday.

The front of the car is blue or a dark color, while the back of the vehicle is silver. The suspect’s vehicle has paper license plates and all the hubcaps are missing.

The driver was a woman in her 30s, police said.

Anyone with information should call Mesquite police at 972-285-6336 or Crime Stoppers at 1-877-373-8477.
