Girl, 4, found her grandmother’s gun and shot herself in Fort Worth, authorities say

CORRECTION: Fort Worth police said Wednesday that the child who was injured is a girl.

A 4-year-old girl found her grandmother’s gun and shot herself in the arm Tuesday in Fort Worth, police said.

The grandmother drove the girl to a hospital. She was treated and released to her parents, Fort Worth police said.

Police did not release the address of the location of the shooting.

Fort Worth police were called about 3 p.m. to the Medical City emergency room in the 700 block of West Bailey Boswell Road in Saginaw when the girl arrived there.

Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit were investigating.
