Man shot woman dead in apartment before shooting himself, police say; toddler uninjured

A man shot a woman to death inside a Fort Worth apartment on Monday night before he apparently shot himself in the head, police said.

A toddler was inside the residence when the killing occurred. The little girl was not injured, police said.

Isiah Rodgers and Jasmine Cordero, both 21, were in a domestic relationship, police said.

Rodgers shot Cordero in the forehead, authorities said.

Cordero was pronounced dead at the scene.

Rodgers died Tuesday morning at John Peter Smith Hospital, the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office said.

The shootings occurred about 6:45 p.m. in an apartment the 6600 block of South Freeway in which Rodgers and Cordero lived, the medical examiner’s office said.
