Woman shot in the chest unintentionally during drug deal in Fort Worth, police say

A man pulled out a gun during a drug deal in west Fort Worth on Monday night and unintentionally shot a woman in the chest, police said.

The woman, who was accompanying the person buying the drugs, is in stable condition, police said in an email Tuesday morning.

The suspect fled the scene, police said, but has possibly been identified. No one had been arrested as of Tuesday morning, police said.

Officers responded to a shooting call in the 2900 block of Broadmoor Drive around 11:50 p.m. Monday. They determined there was an argument between two parties in a drug deal that led to the dealer pulling out a gun on the other party, police said.

The dealer reportedly shot the woman by accident.

She was transported to a hospital Monday night in stable condition, police said.
