Murder suspect surrenders to police officers after fatal stabbing in north Fort Worth

A man accused of fatally stabbing another man in a Fort Worth home was in police custody Monday, according to jail records.

Police arrested Nelson Chajon, 57, after he surrendered to authorities about 2 a.m. Monday, and he was being housed in a Fort Worth holding facility on a murder charge, police records show.

The stabbing occurred about 10:20 p.m. Sunday in the 2400 block of Northwest 28th Street, police say.

Chajon was said to be upset because the victim had harmed one of his dogs, but investigators have not determined whether that is true, a police spokesman said.

A witness told police officers that the victim and suspect did not argue prior to the stabbing, the police spokesman said.

The victim’s name will be released by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office after his family has been notified.
