Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office investigates homicide after man found shot to death
The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the shooting death of a 40-year-old man whose body was found in southwest Tarrant County.
Authorities have not publicly identified a suspect or a motive for the shooting as of Thursday afternoon.
The man who died was Nathan Cole Usery, who was pronounced dead at the scene, according to officials with the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office. He died from a gunshot wound to his head and his death has been ruled a homicide.
Usery’s body was found on what’s listed as railroad property in unincorporated Tarrant County near the Johnson County line.
Officials said Usery’s time of death was 2:28 p.m. Sunday.
Investigators with the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office were called to the 6300 block of Winscott Plover Road on Sunday afternoon.
Authorities have not released any other details on the homicide.
