17-year-old dies after being shot in the head on North Main Street in Fort Worth
A Fort Worth teen was shot in the head early Sunday morning, and died a few hours later from the gunshot wound, according to Fort Worth police and officials with the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.
No other injuries were reported in the shooting.
The victim has been identified as Alejandro S. Garcia of Fort Worth, according to the medical examiner’s website on Monday. A ruling on his death is pending an autopsy.
At about 12:13 a.m., police were dispatched to the 1400 block of North Main Street in response to a shooting call. They found a Garcia, who was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
Garcia died at 10:09 a.m. Sunday at the hospital.
Fort Worth police have not released any information on a motive for the shooting.
The investigation is ongoing, said Fort Worth Officer Bradley Perez, a department spokesman.
