Man charged with stabbing another man to death during fight in Garland, police say
A man was arrested Friday night after Garland police say he stabbed another man to death during a fight inside of a home.
Eliud Leonardo Flores, 26, is in the Garland Detention Center on a charge of murder, police said in a news release.
The victim has been identified, police said, but his name won’t be released until the next of kin is notified.
Units responded to a report of a stabbing around 7:45 p.m. Friday in the 5200 block of Longhorn Trail, police said. They found the victim inside the home, stabbed, and had him transported to Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.
He was pronounced dead at the hospital, police said.
Officers determined Flores and the victim had gotten into an argument earlier inside the residence for unknown reasons. They started to fight, police said, which led to the stabbing.
Flores fled the scene before police arrived, the department said, but officers later found him at a store near Broadway Boulevard and I-30. They took him into custody.
The investigation into the stabbing is active, police said.
