In bid to identify arsonists in Fort Worth courthouse fire, agency increases reward

A federal law enforcement agency said Tuesday that it was offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of two suspected arsonists in a fire at the Tarrant County Southwest Courthouse in Fort Worth.

The reward from the Dallas Field Division of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives would be combined with $1,000 offered by Crime Stoppers of Tarrant County.

The fire was set June 1 about 2:30 a.m. Windows were broken in the building in the 6500 block of Granbury Road. The fire was contained to a small area of the building and was extinguished. No one was injured.

Building security video recorded two suspects running from the building.

The first is believed to be a young male whose height and weight are not known. At the time he wore dark-colored pants, a dark-colored sweatshirt with a Nike swoosh logo above a TCU logo on the left chest, dark shoes and a dark, full face mask with only the eyes exposed, the ATF said. He carried a dark-colored backpack.

The second suspect is believed to be a young male whose height and weight are not known. At the time he wore a dark-colored pants, a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt and dark-colored shoes, the ATF said.
