Homicide detectives investigate shooting death of teen found on Fort Worth street

Homicide detectives continued on Wednesday to investigate the death of a 19-year-old who was found on a Fort Worth street.

The teen was discovered shortly after 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 400 block of South Edgewood Terrace in east Fort Worth.

He was identified as Tyion N. Scruggs of Fort Worth, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office website on Wednesday. A ruling on his death is pending an autopsy.

Scruggs appeared to have suffered a gunshot wound, according to a police report.

A patrol officer responded to a call on Tuesday morning and found the teen on Edgewood Terrace.

Scruggs was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

Fort Worth homicide detectives have not identified a suspect in the case or released any information on a motive.
