Two arrested in connection with shooting death of Fort Worth-area teen over marijuana
A Weatherford teen opened fire on a 19-year-old in an altercation during an illegal marijuana sale on a Parker County street, the county sheriff said Tuesday.
The 19-year-old fell to the ground Friday evening, got up and ran to his Poolville home, where he died.
Authorities say the alleged gunman, 17-year-old Jared Little, was arrested early Tuesday following an investigation of the shooting death of Tommy Scott Talley.
A second suspect, 24-year-old Israel Leon, also was in custody on Tuesday. He faces charges of aggravated robbery and tampering with evidence in the case.
Talley died from gunshot wounds to his chest and arm, according to officials with the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler said Tuesday the shooting occurred Friday evening in the 9700 block of West Texas 199 in Poolville.
Little and Leon are accused of driving to Talley’s Poolville home with the intention of robbing him.
The suspects drove to the scene and parked in the street when Talley walked out of his home, authorities said. At some point, a scuffle ensued between Little and Talley.
Witnesses reported that Little shot at Talley from the backseat of a car. The suspects then fled, investigators say.
Little was in the Parker County Jail on Tuesday in lieu of $765,000 bond. Leon was in the same jail facility in lieu of $115,000 bond.
