Police have a suspect in custody in connection with 2 shootings in south Fort Worth

Police are investigating two shootings Tuesday that injured women on East Berry Street and an attempted carjacking in which no shots were fired. All three incidents occurred in south Fort Worth and may involve the same suspect, police said.

Jeremiah Stevenson, 39, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated robbery, police said. Stevenson may have been involved in all three crimes, police said.

The first shooting was reported as an attempted carjacking in the 700 block of East Berry Street about 5:15 a.m. Tuesday. Stevenson shot a 57-year-old woman in the shoulder outside of a McDonald’s when she refused to give up her car, police alleged in a report.

She was taken to a hospital.

The second shooting occurred about 10:10 a.m. Tuesday in the 900 block of East Berry Street. A 59-year-old woman was reportedly pumping gasoline when she was fired upon, according to police call sheet details.

The woman was hit in the arm with a small-caliber bullet, police reported. She was treated at the scene of the shooting and then released.

Fort Worth police were also investigating another attempted carjacking call Tuesday morning that occurred in the 3500 block of Miller Avenue where no shots were fired, said Officer Daniel Segura, a spokesman.

Robbery detectives were working the investigations, police said.
