Man ‘bleeding badly’ collapses in Fort Worth parking lot after shooting, police say

A man was in critical condition Thursday after he was shot several times and then ran onto a Fort Worth nursing home parking lot, where he collapsed, authorities said.

The unidentified man who police say is in his 40s was shot at least three times in the incident.

The victim is not cooperating with officers, police said.

He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, according to a MedStar spokesman.

After being shot, the victim ran onto the parking lot of Village Creek Nursing Home.

“It apparently started in the apartment complex across the street,” said Kevin Boldt, the administrator at Village Creek Nursing home. “He ran away from the complex and made it to the parking lot.”

The man was “bleeding badly,” according to a police call log.

Patrol officers responded to the shooting call just before 11 a.m. in the 3800 block of Village Creek Road.

No other injuries were reported.

Police did not release any other details and have not identified a suspect or motive for the shooting.
