Homicide detectives arrest suspect in March killing in northwest Fort Worth

A 30-year-old man was arrested Thursday in connection with a March killing in northwest Fort Worth.

Homicide detectives booked Chad Burrell at the city jail on suspicion of murder, according to a Fort Worth police jail log.

Burrell is accused in the March 6 shooting death of Decoda Roberts, 23, at a house in the 4300 block of Poinsetta Drive.

The police investigation into other suspects was incomplete. Police did not release information about a motive in the killing.

Roberts was shot in the torso and died within the hour at a hospital, the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office said.

Police filed a criminal mischief report for the same address and time as Roberts’ shooting. A car tire was damaged.
