Man shot to death in northwest Fort Worth, police say; the victim was shot in the torso

A 23-year-old man was shot in the torso on Friday at a northwest Fort Worth house and died within the hour at a hospital, authorities said.
An assailant shot Decoda Roberts about 6:30 p.m. in the 4300 block of Poinsetta Drive, The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office said.
A Fort Worth police spokesman declined to say whether an assailant was in custody.
Police filed a criminal mischief report for the same address and time as the shooting. A car tire was damaged.
Also Friday, a man was shot on a sidewalk outside an east Fort Worth apartment building during an argument, authorities said.
Deunta Gunnell, 42, was shot in the back about 4:15 p.m. outside of the Edgewood Oaks Apartments in the 500 block of South Edgewood Terrace, police said.
Gunnell suffered a serious, but not life-threatening injury, authorities said. He was taken to a hospital.
Police had not announced an arrest Saturday.
