Fort Worth-area officers seize a smorgasbord of drugs while serving search warrant
Investigators served a search warrant at an apartment near Hurst on Friday and found ecstasy, LSD, marijuana, Percocet, marijuana edibles, hydrocodone, THC concentrates, cash and a stolen gun. They arrested a 22-year-old suspect, according to a news release from the Parker County Sheriff’s Office.
Officers suspect the Percocet pills were laced with fentanyl. Authorities say fentanyl has become increasingly popular in illegal street drug transactions due to the addictive nature of the drug. The use of fentanyl has led to a number of fatal overdoses, the release said.
“This type of investigation commonly leads our SCU (Special Crimes Unit) investigators across county lines,” said Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler.
Fowler said the investigation is ongoing and more charges may be added later. The suspect’s identity is not being released due to the ongoing investigation, the release said.
Investigators seized more than $60,000 worth of illegal narcotics while serving a search warrant at the apartment in the 800 block of West Harwood Road, near Hurst.
The search warrant stemmed from several linked investigations which included a network of individuals involved in the distribution of narcotics within the Parker and Tarrant county areas, the release said.
During these investigations, officers operated in undercover roles while monitoring social media websites. The suspect was identified as a supply source for multiple types of narcotics made available to youth and adults, the release said.
Investigators also seized approximately $18,000 in cash, a passenger vehicle, two laptop computers, two smartphones and a stolen firearm.
