1 person injured in Denton shooting, police say
One person suffered minor injuries in a shooting in east Denton early Saturday morning, police said.
Officers responded around 1:10 a.m. to reports of a shooting in the 5300 block of East McKinney Street. They found one victim with minor injuries, police said, and the individual was transported to a hospital. The person is expected to survive.
Police said officers located and detained a suspect, or suspects. The department didn’t clarify how many people were taken into custody.
Police also didn’t describe what led to the shooting.
Part of East McKinney Street was blocked off early Saturday morning and there was a large police presence in the area, the department said.
When asked Saturday morning if an update was available, police said “we have no additional information for release at this time.”
