Head-on crash in Saginaw leaves drivers of both vehicles dead, police say
A head-on crash involving a pickup truck driving the wrong way in Saginaw early Saturday morning ended with both drivers dying, police said.
Jose Saucedo, 35, of Fort Worth, was identified by the Tarrant County Medial Examiner’s Office as one of the two men killed. He reportedly died in the roadway.
Jesus Beltran Jimenez, 55, of Hurst, was also killed in the crash and died in the driver’s seat of a car, the medical examiner reported.
It wasn’t immediately clear which driver was in which vehicle.
Officers responded around 3:45 a.m. to a report of a two-vehicle accident in the 1400 block of North Saginaw Boulevard, police said. A preliminary investigation indicated a white GMC Sierra pickup truck was traveling south in northbound lanes and collided head-on with a a silver Toyota Camry heading north.
The driver of the GMC was ejected from the car, police said.
Police are continuing to investigate what led to the crash. It’s unknown at this time if alcohol played a factor.
Toxicology reports are pending, police said.
