Man fatally shot in Fort Worth tried to drive away before crashing, police say

A man is dead after he was shot in Fort Worth on Monday night and — trying to drive away — crashed into another vehicle, police said.

The man, whose identity wasn’t released, was found inside the car and taken to a hospital, police said. He was later pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made.

Units responded to a report of a major crash in the 3200 block of Race Street about 8:15 p.m. The incident was eventually determined to be a shooting, police said.

Police determined the man was shot at an unknown location and tried to drive away before crashing into a vehicle on Race Street.

It’s unclear at this time who shot the victim, police said.

Homicide detectives are investigating the shooting.
