Arlington Martin student shot to death, 4 people wounded in separate Fort Worth shootings

An Arlington teen was shot to death and four other people suffered gunshot wounds in five separate shootings in Fort Worth on Sunday night, according to police and MedStar reports.

Police did not believe the shootings were related.

In the first shooting, a person was shot in the abdomen in the 2800 block of Las Vegas Trail in Fort Worth at about 5:20 p.m. Sunday. According to scanner traffic, a caller said a group of people were fighting and they heard gunshots.

The next shooting occurred shortly before 9 p.m. Sunday in the 6600 block of Brentwood Stair Road in Fort Worth. A patrol officer reported hearing gunshots in the area and went to the scene.

A 37-year-old man was shot while he was in his vehicle in a parking lot, according to a police call log. The man was taken to a local hospital.

At about 11 p.m. Sunday, one person was wounded in a drive-by shooting at Stalcup Road and East Berry Street. The victim was wounded while driving a car. The wounded person drove to the 6100 block of Ramey Avenue and was taken to a hospital from there, according to Star-Telegram media partner WFAA-TV. KTVT reported the victim in that case was a 16-year-old boy.

Fort Worth police then received a report of another shooting at about 11:19 p.m. Sunday. An Arlington teen was shot and her brother was driving her to an emergency room at a local hospital, according to the police call log.

The victim was identified as Cheyenne Angel Moore, 17, of Arlington, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office website on Monday. She was shot in the 5700 block of E. Rosedale St., the website stated.

Police arrived at the hospital and found Moore had suffered a gunshot wound to her upper body. She died at the hospital, police said Monday.

Moore was a student at Arlington Martin High School, according to school records.

Police said Monday the fatal shooting of the teen occurred in Fort Worth, but they did not release any other details.

In the fifth shooting, just before 11:30 p.m. Sunday, a 19-year-old was seriously wounded in the 7800 block of Novella Drive in south Fort Worth.

No arrests had been announced Monday. Police have not released any other details on the shootings.
