17-year-old ‘lone shooter’ arrested after teen shot 3 times in Saginaw, police say

A teenager turned himself in to authorities Friday afternoon hours after another teen was shot three times in Saginaw, police said.

The victim suffered injuries that were not life-threatening and was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital, police said in a news release.

Dalton Lee Turner, 17, described as the “lone shooter,” came forward to officers in Azle around 4 p.m. Friday and claimed he was involved, police said. He was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Saginaw officers responded to the shooting in the 600 block of Crystal Brook Drive around 2:30 p.m. Friday, police said. They located the 18-year-old victim, who had reportedly been shot three times.

Police were still investigating the shooting Saturday.
