Murder suspect who confessed to killing his wife is found dead in his Fort Worth home
A Grand Prairie murder suspect was found dead in his Fort Worth home just weeks after a new charge was filed against him, according to court records and Fort Worth police.
Fort Worth police believe the death of Gary Moore was self-inflicted, but they provided no other details.
Moore, 47, was found at his home in the 5100 block of Sears Drive last week and pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office website on Tuesday.
A ruling on his death is pending.
He had been accused of killing his wife in February at their Grand Prairie home.
His death came just weeks after Grand Prairie police filed a charge of unlawful disclosure or promotion of intimate visual material stemming from an incident in November 2017.
In that incident, Gary Moore was accused of posting nude or semi-nude photos of a woman on Facebook. A woman had recently contacted Grand Prairie police about the photos, prompting an investigation which led to the charge being filed in October.
Gary Moore had been free since June after posting $710,000 bond.
He was charged in March with the Feb. 21 murder of his wife, Elizabeth Moore. He was later charged in May with solicitation of capital murder and accused of threatening to kill Elizabeth Moore’s son, Adrian Pena.
Adrian Pena received a letter from Gary Moore that threatened him and a girl Moore is accused of sexually abusing.
The letter stated, ”You and (the girl) aren’t off the hook. I have hired a hit man to kill both of you. I know what you are thinking. (Expletive.) Think of I got the Balls to do what I’ve done what makes having you 2 killed any worse.”
Court and jail records gave this brief account of the charges Gary Moore had been facing:
In August 2018, Gary Latone Moore was arrested and accused of sexual crimes against a teenage girl in Grand Prairie.
In October 2018, Gary Moore was charged with sexual performance by a child and the distribution of harmful material to a minor. The girl who reported it was an acquaintance of his wife, Elizabeth Pena Moore.
Then in 2019, Gary Moore was accused of shooting his wife to death at their Grand Prairie home. On the night of Feb. 21, Moore walked into the Grand Prairie police station and surrendered to officers, telling police he had shot his wife.
