Robbers used stun gun to rob 71-year-old woman of her purse in Burleson parking lot
Burleson police continued their search Friday for two women who used a stun gun to rob an elderly woman before Thanksgiving.
Burleson detectives released photographs of the suspects from surveillance video in hope that someone would recognize the robbers and contact authorities.
The holdup occurred about 9:45 a.m. Wednesday in the parking lot of Ross in Gateway Station Plaza shopping center the 1100 block of N. Burleson Blvd. in Burleson, police said.
The 71-year-old victim was getting out of her vehicle when two women approached her, Burleson police said.
One of the women used a Taser or stun gun and shocked the victim, then took the victim’s purse, police said.
The suspects ran to a white SUV parked nearby and drove away.
Anyone with information on the robbery should call Burleson police at 817-426-9883.
Police said they have increased patrols in key shopping areas, and they advise residents to be aware of their surroundings while holiday shopping.
