15-year-old hit woman on head with handgun, then robbed her, Fort Worth police say

A 15-year-old boy is a suspect in an attack on a woman in a grocery store parking lot last week, Fort Worth police said Wednesday.

The teen is accused of hitting the elderly woman on the head with a handgun when she refused to give him her car keys.

The teen was taken into custody early Wednesday and faces a charge of delinquent conduct-aggravated robbery, authorities said.

The name of the teen is not being released because he is a juvenile.

The attack occurred about 7:15 p.m. on Nov. 19 at WinCo Foods at 8000 Crowley Road in Fort Worth.

The woman was loading groceries into her car when the teen walked up to her and demanded the keys, police said.

The woman told him, “No,” and he immediately struck the victim, police said.

He then is accused of taking money out of her purse.

A witness tried to stop the robbery, but the teen told the witness, “I got a gun.” The witness backed off, police said.

The teen fled the scene on foot.
