Fort Worth teen reported missing after school field trip is found dead

The family of a missing Fort Worth teen called off the search for the 18-year-old Thursday evening after he was found dead.

Angel Alvarado went missing in mid-April after a two-day trip with Uplift Mighty Preparatory school. The trip ended April 17, and friends saw Angel get off the bus and walk to his truck in the school parking lot. But Angel never returned home, his sister, Jazmin Alvarado, said.

“After a series of events involving the police over the span of two agonizing weeks, we have finally been confirmed of Angel’s passing,” a Facebook post on a page dedicated to Angel stated Thursday.

The family said they will not be releasing details of Angel’s death.

“We expect nothing, and we will not demand help in any manner, but we will request that people hold any and all comments or questions concerning Angel’s death,” the post said. “Many of his friends and family are suffering enough, and they do not wish to revisit these details.”

Alvarado was found in a wooded area of a city park near the 3500 block of View Street on April 30, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office website. His death has been ruled a suicide.
