Garland police are investigating the homicide of a 51-year-old man who was shot just before 6:30 p.m. Monday, according to the Garland Police Department.

Police were sent to the 500 block of Hillcrest Drive and the 100 block of South Jupiter Road on a 911 call that two people had been shot. The addresses are about two-and-a-half miles from each other.

A man was found at a home on Hillcrest and taken to a hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, police said. Police did not identify him.

A second man, whom police identified as Leonardo Rodriguez, 51, was found at the Jupiter Road apartment complex. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Police think both men were shot at the apartment complex.

The investigation is ongoing and police are trying to determine what led up to the shooting. No arrests have been made as of Monday night.
